Whidbey grown ingredients make every gathering shine.

Here’s how others in the community have used the Food Hub for their events.

  • Frolic on the Farm Fundraiser

Sourcing for a catered Farm to Table dinner.

Chef Becky sent a list of requested ingredients to the Food Hub, including veggies, herbs, fruit, meat, seafood, cheese, milk, butter, bread, sauce, and pie.

Product was sourced from 20 producers, aggregated by the Food Hub, and delivered Friday for a beautiful farm to table dinner on Saturday afternoon.

  • Documentary Reception

An organization held a documentary viewing with a cocktail hour reception.

The Food Hub helped them order sauces, cheeses, fruit, vegetables, and baked goods to offer a local charcuterie for the guests to enjoy.

Product was aggregated and stored at the Food Hub warehouse until the day of the event, so the organization didn’t have to secure storage for the products.

  • Salad Mix

The most accessible local product may be salad mix. Flavorful and super fresh, our island farmers grow multiple varieties of salad mix and offer it by the pound.

It’s easy to prepare - just wash and serve. If cutting and prepping isn’t an option, the local greens are flavorful even on their own.

The Food Hub has provided salad mix for multiple community events, including a Habitat for Humanity volunteer work day, and the Blue Heron Canoe Event in Langley.

  • Private Retreat

Whidbey Nutrition hosted twelve guests, providing breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and snacks for a seven-day silent retreat, using whole, natural ingredients locally sourced from the Food Hub.
